We scrape and brush the moss off rather than blasting tiles with high pressure, which protects the surface of concrete tiles and keeps the water out of the roof space. A biocide treatment afterwards slows regrowth right down.
Conservatory and carport roofs, which go green faster than anything else on a house, are washed down by hand along with the frames and finials. While we are up there we clear the gutters and flush the downpipes.

Is pressure washing bad for roof tiles?
High pressure can strip the surface of concrete tiles and shorten their life, which is why we scrape and soft wash instead of blasting.
How often do gutters need clearing?
Once a year for most houses, twice if you have trees close by. Overflowing gutters are one of the most common causes of damp on an outside wall.
Do you work at height safely?
We use the right access for the job. Anything beyond safe ladder work gets a tower or a platform rather than a ladder and a hope.
Will the moss come back?
Slowly. A treated roof usually stays clear for a few years, and a north facing roof under trees will need doing more often than a south facing one.
